The Best Summertime Travel Destinations

Summer is the perfect time for travel! The weather is warm, the sun is shining, and time off of work and school makes it easy to find the time to travel! But there are so many places to travel, it can be hard to narrow down! Luck for you, we’ve assembled this list of our favorite summer travel hotspots! As an added bonus, they’re all right here in the United States!

  1. The Black Hills (South Dakota) –  The Black Hills are perhaps the most beautiful part of South Dakota. The emerald green hills stand out against a bright blue sky, making for breathtaking scenery. The Black Hills are also home to two major US monuments, Mount Rushmore and the Crazy Horse memorial. They are also driving distance from Badlands National Park, which is a must see for any visitors to South Dakota! 
  2. Nashville (Tennessee) – This urban vacation is perfect for any music lover! This bustling city is filled with music almost everywhere you go. Live music and great barbecue make this one of the ultimate summer travel destinations! 
  3. Yellowstone National Park (Wyoming/Montana) – Yellowstone National Park is perhaps the most famous of the US’ national parks and is one of the most famous geological wonders of the world! From boiling mud pits, to beautiful lakes and rivers, Yellowstone has so much to offer by way of natural beauty, that one trip will hardly be enough. It’s no wonder people go again and again! 
  4. Seattle (Washington) – Seattle is one of the greatest cities in the Pacific Northwest, and it has a lot to offer tourist! There are countless art museums to be explored, as well as a plethora of art festivals to attend! Rain or shine, Seattle is a great place to be in the summer!

With everything from Baseball to prison tours, San Francisco has something for everyone. It’s one of the most unique cities in the US, and well worth a visit! 
  6. Steamboat Springs (Colorado) – Steamboat Springs is known as a ski resort town, which makes it perfect for an off-season adventure! Named for natural hot springs in the area, Steamboat Springs is home to some of the country’s greatest campsites and trails. It is the perfect destination for any nature-lover! 
  7. Cape Cod (Massachusetts) – Cape Cod is home to some of the greatest beaches in New England. The beautiful landscape and quaint town will absolutely take your breath away. The seafood here is absolutely unbeatable, and there’s nothing quite like it anywhere else in the country. With scenery like this, its sure to leave you smiling! 
  8. New Orleans (Louisiana) – New Orleans is one of the most energetic cites in the United States! Famous for its massive Marti Gras celebrations, New Orleans has all kinds of amazing festivals year-round, including a French Heritage Festival and a Jazz festival! The city is alive and vibrant with its rich history and culture! 
  9. Outer Banks (North Carolina) – While certainly not the most famous destination on the list, Outer Banks has major historical significance! It was here that Orville and Wilbur Wright took their fight flight! Located on the chain of islands off the coast of North Carolina, Outer Banks is home to sunshine, beaches, and beautiful ocean views. It is the perfect place for any summer trip! 
  10.  Grand Canyon National Park (Arizona) – One of the greatest destinations in the United States, Grand Canyon National Park is home to the largest canyon in the country. The park has uncompilable camping, breathtaking trails, and unparalleled scenery. It is truly the ultimate summer travel destination!
